Consultations
We provide expert consultations to discuss and evaluate any gastrointestinal concerns, symptoms, or conditions, and recommend appropriate diagnostic tests or treatments.
We can help identify, diagnose, and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders and diseases. Examples include:
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): A chronic condition where stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, causing heartburn, regurgitation, and potentially more serious complications.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): A common disorder that affects the large intestine and causes symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, gas, diarrhea, or constipation.
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD): A group of chronic inflammatory disorders, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, which affect the digestive tract and cause symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhea, and weight loss.
Celiac Disease: An autoimmune disorder triggered by the ingestion of gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye, which leads to damage in the small intestine and malabsorption of nutrients.
Peptic Ulcers: Open sores that develop on the inner lining of the stomach, upper small intestine, or esophagus, often caused by bacterial infections or long-term use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Colorectal Cancer: A malignant growth that arises from the inner lining of the colon or rectum. Early detection through screening tests such as colonoscopies can improve treatment outcomes.
Gallstones: Hardened deposits of digestive fluid that form in the gallbladder, which may cause abdominal pain, nausea, or complications if they block the bile ducts.
Pancreatitis: Inflammation of the pancreas, often caused by gallstones, excessive alcohol consumption, or other factors, which can lead to severe abdominal pain and digestive issues.
Diverticulitis: An inflammation or infection of small pouches (diverticula) that can form in the walls of the colon, causing symptoms such as abdominal pain, fever, and changes in bowel habits.
Gastrointestinal Bleeding: Bleeding that occurs anywhere in the digestive tract, which can be caused by a variety of conditions, including ulcers, diverticulitis, hemorrhoids, or colorectal cancer.
